Causes and solutions of common Timken deep groove ball bearing burns

Time:2021-7-16 Hits:
Timken deep groove ball bearing was burned. Generally speaking, there are three points: poor lubrication of the bearing; Excessive load of imported bearing; The poor accuracy of shaft and bearing housing is the cause of bearing burns. The following is a detailed introduction to the causes of bearing burns.
One of the reasons for bearing burns is that Timken bearings have poor lubrication, and irregular lubricants may be used, or too much or too little lubricant is incorrect.
The second reason for bearing burn is the excessive load of the bearing; Excessive speed of bearing; The clearance of bearing is too small; Intrusion of water or other foreign matters.
The third reason of bearing burn is the poor accuracy of shaft and bearing housing and the large deflection of shaft.
The three major causes of bearing burn will lead to the state of bearing burn, and the raceway wheel, rolling element and cage of imported bearing will be heated sharply during rotation until discoloration, softening, deposition and damage.
It is suggested that the installation, lubrication, clearance and other links of the bearing should be as accurate and in place as possible, so as to reduce the burn of the bearing and prolong the service life of the bearing.
The causes of bearing noise are complex. One is the wear of the mating surfaces of the inner and outer rings of the bearing. Due to this wear, the matching relationship between bearing and shell, rolling bearing and shaft is damaged, resulting in the axis deviation from the correct position and abnormal sound when the shaft moves at high speed. When the bearing is tired, the metal on its surface will peel off, which will also increase the radial clearance of the bearing and produce abnormal noise. In addition, insufficient bearing lubrication, dry friction and bearing breakage will produce abnormal sound. After Timken bearing is worn and loose, the cage is loose and damaged, which will also produce abnormal noise.
(1) The bearing has been damaged and should be replaced immediately.
(2) There is too little or too much bearing grease or impurities such as iron filings. The capacity of bearing grease shall not exceed 70% of the total volume, and those with impurities shall be replaced.
(3) The fit between shaft and deep groove ball bearing is too tight or loose. If it is too tight, it shall be grinded again, and if it is too loose, the rotating shaft shall be sleeved.
(4) The fit between bearing and end cap is too tight or loose. When it is too tight, the bearing chamber shall be processed, and when it is too loose, the steel sleeve shall be embedded in the end cover.
(5) The covers at both ends of the motor or bearing covers are poorly assembled. Install and level the end cover or bearing cover stop, and tighten the screws.
(6) The belt is too tight or the coupling is poorly assembled. Adjust the belt tension and correct the coupling.
(7) Timken bearing lubricating oil is too little, there are impurities or the oil ring is stuck. The oil ring shall be repaired or replaced if oil is added or replaced.
